Gigantic 1905 Bisque Doll Complete With Composite Body & Original Clothes – Heuback-Koppelsdorf, Germany. Rocker eyes still work. No cracks or chips although the composite arm (her left) has a stress crack. I have just noticed that the doll has a moving tongue! All of her: 590mm. This doll is HUGE!! LARGE ANTIQUE GERMAN BISQUE DOLL. SIMON & HALBIG – K R’ – 28 INCHES – FLIRTY EYES. This doll is from a smoke free home and has no odors. I just love’flirty eyed’ dolls – they have so much character. This girl is 28 inches tall. She has large brown’flirty’ eyes. So when you tilt her head to one side and maybe down a touch – she talks to you and to anyone who looks at her!!! I think these large dolls with flirty eyes have a great character. Her body has it’s original finish but the hands have been replaced. She wears a lace trimmed white dress; two lace trimmed underskirts; newer lace trimmed pantaloons; long stockings; older leather shoes; a straw hat decorated with silk flowers and ribbon. Her dress is accented with pink and light green ribbon that matched the same in the hat. She has red bead earrings. Her old wig has wonderful curls that look great under her hat. Antique German bisque head doll marked L H K , wood and composite body. The only place I have seen this maker listed is in the 14th blue book, Foulke, pg 53. (as pictured) published 1999. Her eyes are uncommonly dark brown, so dark it is hard to see the pupil! Her body is in very good shape. As pictured, someone thought it would be a good idea to paint her nails and toenails. No cracks or chips to the head. MARKED MADE IN GERMANY H K 171. It measures roughly about 26 inches tall. Hi the markings are really…… K made in 14….. These are size markings, and the mold number is the lovely 171….. The kester company used the size markings on these bisque head, composition body dolls about 1899 to about 1915…. They are called the”alphabet series”…. The mold size letters and numbers seems to indicate that these markings were used for the assemblers to add the correct size body. The series started with A 5, B 6, C 7 all the way up to O 18 for a very large doll, skipping the letter i in the alphabet… The letter/number pairs are always consistent…. She is very pretty, hope this adds a little……. Long time kestner collector feel free to post the notes if you care to. Most kestner collectors are very familiar with these alphabet markings….. Antique German Bisque Simon & Halbig, Kammer Reinhardt 8 tall doll! , tiny little top teeth inside open mouth. I found no damage to bisque head, no cracks, hairlines or anything. The compo body does have some darkened areas and some wear. The stringing is very loose on this little doll. If keeping her I would have her re-strung. She can stand with a doll stand but her head is a bit floppy. She comes with a sparse old blonde wig, combination underwear, a slip, a cute drop-waist dress with 3 old metal hooks in back, and a frame of a hat with just a bit of ribbon left. The silk must have completely melted off the hat frame. The shoes are newer ones. This is a sweet old doll in a nice petite size! Be sure to see my many other items. Very well molded darling character face with pouty expression, closed mouth, brown glass sleeping eyes, rosy cheeks, multi-strokes feathered eyebrows, delicately painted upper and lower eyelashes and double chin. Original short brown bobbed human hair wig and cardboard pate. Original slant hip five-piece composition baby body. Dressed in a probably factory original clothing, white cotton gown, white cotton diapers and a white socks. Head is incised on back “K & R // Simon & Halbig // 115 / A // 42″.
