This model is constructed of the innovative SafariSevenT material, a unique nylon blend from DuPontT. SafariSevenT is highly durable and practically impervious to the elements. This holster features the Automatic Locking System (ALS®). Once the weapon is holstered, it locks into place. When the ALS is de-activated by the thumb, a simple straight up draw is used. It comes standard with the UBL Mid-ride, fitting 2 in. To 2.25 in. Fits the Following Configurations. (taken directly from Safariland’s fit chart). Heckler & Koch VP9 (4.09 BBL). GUN DRAW HAND: Right. ALS® (Automatic Locking System) secures weapon once holstered; simple straight up draw. Once release is deactivated. Open-top design without SLS for quick retrieval of weapon. Optional ALS Guard available for increasing level of security by one to a Level II RetentionT. Made of SafariSevenT, which is a proprietary nylon blend that is completely non-abrasive to a firearm’s finish. Raised stand-off surfaces in holster’s interior creates air space around the weapon, allowing dirt and moisture to quickly clear any contact with the firearm. Very high heat and low cold tolerances; structurally sound from 300° F to -50° F. Simple straight up draw once all releases are deactivated. 2.25 inch (58mm) belt slots. The ALS (automatic locking system) activates once the weapon is holstered. It keeps the firearm securely locked in place in the holster. This secure fit prevents the weapon from being pulled out accidentally, but still allows its user to remove easily. This open top holster features the Automatic Locking System (ALS), an internal locking device that retains the weapon in all directions with no straps or snaps to manipulate. Once the weapon is holstered, it locks into place. The holster is completely operable with the thumb and once the ALS is de-activated a simple straight up draw is used. There is a jacket slot between the holster and hanger. Hanger has 2 solid brass D rings for a Sam Browne strap. If not needed these could easily be trimmed from the hanger. The Safariland model 6280 holster is the base model of Self Locking System (SLS) series of holsters. It includes a unique rotating hood design. This holster also features a universal belt loop that mounts on a 2 or 2.25 duty belt. With no snap, the Safariland 6280 holsters SLS design allows for a smoother single-motion draw and greater protection against attempted weapon takeaways. The hood can only be released by being simultaneously pushed down and rotated forward and actually becomes more secure when upward force is applied. It is also far less likely to release accidentally than conventional thumb break snaps. The 6280 holster features a tensioning device, which, when firmly adjusted becomes a level iii retention holster. SLS (Self Locking System) mid-ride position allows for excellent weapon protection and quick easy draw top draw and straight drop cant for pistols or revolvers level iii with optional sentry installed or tension screw properly adjusted level iv with optional sentry installed and tension screw properly adjusted available plain black, basket weave, hi-gloss, or nylon look finishes.
