The costume is made of Iridescent light pink crushed silky velvet. Coat has ties closure with a petite v-shape collar. The camera does not give enough justice to the color of this velvet. This velvet is absolutely beautiful. I believe the costume is vintage and was made in the past. The coat comes with matching bonnet. All pieces are lined with pink satin fabric. The costume is clean with no odor but liner has some shredding in one place due to the age of the costume. The costume is modeled by my German KR doll about 24 tall. 17.5″ long, the sleeves are 9 ½ ” long. It measures 6.5 from shoulder to shoulder. It is 7 ½ from arm pit to arm pit from the back. LOT 5 – I HAVE 19 DOLLS LISTED THAT CAME FROM A DOLL COLLECTION SO CHECK MY OTHER AUCTIONS – I don’t have a string knowledge of dolls so know that this is a pre owed item and may have normal wear / etc. Eyes are set open. No cracks or chips to the head. MARKED MADE IN GERMANY H K 171. It measures roughly about 26 inches tall. Hi the markings are really…… K made in 14….. These are size markings, and the mold number is the lovely 171….. The kester company used the size markings on these bisque head, composition body dolls about 1899 to about 1915…. They are called the”alphabet series”…. The mold size letters and numbers seems to indicate that these markings were used for the assemblers to add the correct size body. The series started with A 5, B 6, C 7 all the way up to O 18 for a very large doll, skipping the letter i in the alphabet… The letter/number pairs are always consistent…. She is very pretty, hope this adds a little……. Long time kestner collector feel free to post the notes if you care to. Most kestner collectors are very familiar with these alphabet markings…..
